This Cult Favorite Jacquemus La Pochette Rond Carré is Back

Arriving in gold too!

Last summer, Simon Porte Jacquemus wowed us when he staged a show at the Palace of Versailles. Everything from the setting to the clothes, shoes, bags, and accessories was eye-catching, but the most captivating was a brand-new silhouette.

A new pouch, debuting in a variety of colors and sizes, was clutched by models waltzing down the runway. Immediately, fans wanted to know more, mesmerized by the silver version, which would quickly prove to be a fan favorite.

Following the show, the Jacquemus team teased details of the new shape on the brand’s Instagram, and I, along with many others, was smitten. Something about the bag’s cool shape, inspired by take-out bags, coupled with the shiny silver metallic finish with a mirrored effect, was just it.

Mixing Metals

In true take-out bag fashion, the clutch rolls open to reveal the interior, and its cool gold hardware adds a fun mixed-metal twist. Many people don’t like mixing gold jewelry when wearing a silver bag (I don’t mind, but I can understand), but this bag solves that by having jewel-like finishes of its own.

When it first dropped, it was an instant hit—a true definition of a cult favorite. In fact, by the time I decided I wanted it, it was sold out. I even stopped into the Jacquemus store on Avenue Montaigne in Paris when I was there in September—it was also sold out.

Following the brand’s La Casa presentation, Jacquemus has expanded on the silhouette, giving it a functional twist and adding a shoulder strap. Plus, the fan-favorite version on everyone’s wish list is finally back in stock *runs to hit add to cart*.

Also, for those metallic lovers who favor gold, buckle up because a stunning all-gold iteration is dropping later this fall, and you can pre-order it now.

For those who care the bag is composed of 69% Polyurethane and 31% Polyester both of which are not environmentally friendly.

I noticed that too! At this price I would’ve expected metallic real LEATHER. The product description actually uses the word “leather” for the gold and silver metallic bags and I think that’s misleading.

Are we being primed for the announcement that Simon Porte Jacquemus will be taking over at Chanel?

Can we talk about the price jump at Jacquemus? One thing that stood out was their decent pricing. This bag was sitting at $900 last year (already high) and now for no reason outside of popularity they add $160. All their bags and clothes have gone up putting them in awkward spot of is it worth it or its way overpriced.
