The Raffia Bag of My Dreams from Chanel Coco Beach 24

And two more options from the summer-themed collection

Living in South Florida for much of my life, summer will always be the season that I relate to best. Though we live practically in a virtual year-round summer here, seasonal beach collections always speak to my soul.

I suppose it’s all the excitement that comes with vacation season. The dream trips we either get to go on or think about in our minds, the idea of time off from work so we can recharge and relax, and the happiness the extra sunshine brings us all. Nearly every major brand releases a summer capsule collection, one of my favorite times of the fashion calendar.

Chanel combines playful and whimsy very well, season after season. This year, for Chanel Coco Beach 24, Chanel takes us back to the beach with a warm-weather-themed collection ideal for summer trips.

The Ultimate Raffia Shopping Bags

We had the opportunity to see some of my favorite bags from this collection up close, and now, I believe I have a closet full of Chanel and a trip to the South of France planned.

A girl can dream.

The two bags I love most from this line are the Small and Maxi Raffia Shopping Bags. These bags come in two sizes, each with the same elements—including the removable lambskin leather pouch (always a nice touch).

The Chanel Raffia Shopping Bag features a braided pattern with small diamond openings alongside tighter woven areas. These openings allow a peek inside the bag and its contents.

My Reels preview of the Chanel Coco Beach Collection.

Two sets of handles—with the iconic chain and leather detail—allow for either hand carrying or over the shoulder. It’s important to note that neither of these is adjustable or removable, so you will always have four straps and need to pick the matching two you want to carry.

This is one of those designs that I understand rationally that I do not need, but it doesn’t change every fiber of my bag-loving-being from wanting. The price for the small is $5,100, and the price for the Maxi is $7,000.

Chanel Small and Large Shopping Bags and Yellow Towel

A Touch of Cotton and Stripes

Another fun bag is a twofer because it includes a towel inside and works as a great beach or pool bag. The cotton yellow terrycloth with the matching Chanel towel on the interior screams happiness. The price is $2,625.

Lastly, we looked at the large black-and-white bowling bag. The Bowling Bag style doesn’t come up as often as a popular style, but I have been a fan for a long time. The stripes and the gold hardware give off that same laissez-faire attitude. It is priced at $4,900.

Did I read that correctly, $5100.00 for Raffia? I like the bag but that is too much for raffia! I love Chanel but I am careful about the bags I invest in and raffia just doesn’t make the cut.

Very cute bag BUT Chanel’s image as a company has greatly declined in my eyes.
First the greedy price gouging and yearly increases.
Now the jump onto the raffia bandwagon !
Madame would turn in her grave ! 😉

I like the raffia bags but not for those prices. The towel and the terry duffle are a good deal by Chanel standards! Hoping it didn’t sell out!

It looks like a great car. Last week someone had parked in front of our building a 1958 ice blue, mint condition Corvette. It’s valued at well over $100k, couldn’t believe it was left on the street overnight.

I love the raffia bags but the prices are obscene. If I lived in FL though then I might be able to justify 🙂

Yeah but then you’d have to live in Florida 🤡 where teachers can be prosecuted for mentioning that queer people exist.

Where are all those who were offended by the prices of Loewe Font and other raffia bags? If in the end they will be cheap compared to these from Chanel.

No matter how hard Mr. Arnault tries, Loewe will never be Chanel. Can’t compare!

As I recall, the Loewe Font raffia bag was under $2k, expensive but not crazy. However the YSL raffia tote was in the $5ks-that seemed crazy for what it was. The prices of these Chanel pieces seem in line with the brand’s pricing to me. Nothing shocking about them at all and they will have amazing resale value. I love the smaller pink one and am seriously considering it if it is still available. Might still buy a lottery ticket tho-

At least this bag is more interesting and less basic than the Loewe bag. 🩷 Chanel will always be Chanel.

What a waste. There are far better bags you can get for that price. You can also get nicer looking rafia bags from D and G.
