JW Anderson Debuts a New Bag on the Runway at Men’s Fashion Week

Coming Spring 2025...

Over the weekend during Men’s Fashion Week, JW Anderson debuted a joint Spring 2025 collection featuring both menswear and womenswear. While the collection overall featured an array of styles mostly straying from the ordinary (something Anderson has a true knack for), when it came to accessories, the focus stood out clearly: a brand-new bag shape.

While Anderson’s bags as a whole still fall somewhat under the radar, every few years, he focuses on a new shape, which the fashion crowd is typically quick to buy into. His bags are the definition of cult favorites—think the Pierce bag back in the late 2010s, later the Anchor Bag, and most recently, the Bumper Bag.

After multiple collections in the past couple of years expanded on the much-hyped Bumper Bag this season, it was clear that Anderson was ready to debut a new shape. And debut it he did, with multiple iterations of the new bag toted on the Spring 2025 runway.

A New It-Bag Arrives

The rectangular shoulder bag is aptly dubbed the Loafer Bag because it features a maxi version of the whale-tail penny keeper that is often used on the classic penny loafer. Carried by both men and women in small and large versions of suede and leather, the Loafer Bag will drop early next year. If its omnipresence on the runway is any indication, the Loafer Bag will surely be JW Anderson’s next big push.
